The resolution of inflammation is an active process that relies on pro-resolving lipid mediators. These lipid mediators are derived from DHA and EPA, which are omega-3 fatty acids. When the immune system can't produce these pro-resolving lipid mediators, inflammation becomes chronic -- leading to the epidemic of chronic diseases facing us today.

Genetic variants in the MTHFR gene often have people taking methylfolate supplements, and high homocysteine levels are also treated with supplemental folate. Plus, we all get lots of folic acid if we eat cereal, white bread, anything with enriched flour, or white rice.

I think a lot of the population is unknowingly going overboard (either from folic acid-enriched food or from supplements) and caution is warranted.

Interesting new studies:

1) Erythritol and Blood Clots

A new study in the Journal of the American Heart Association adds to the prior studies linking erythritol to increased clotting. The study showed that erythritol caused platelets to aggregate or be more reactive to stimulus -- essentially clot more easily.

2.) Consciousness is due to photon entanglement? 

The Phys.org article explains new research into understanding consciousness. Researchers in China have shown that entangled photos in the myelin sheath are likely involved in consciousness. Essentially, this is quantum entanglement in the brain synchronizing brain function. Spooky.
